Warbasse Nursery School Needs Your Help

@Warbasse Nursery School

A non- profit Coney Island Nursery School that has been serving the community for 46 years needs your help to survive. The Warbasse Nursery School located on W. 5th St. has to relocate and they need over $200,000 to do so. A GOFUNDME link has been set up.

According to their website:

PLEASE HELP US SAVE THE WARBASSE NURSERY SCHOOL!
The Warbasse Nursery School, a Not-for-Profit 501(c)(3), is an Inclusion program located in the heart of Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York. We provide services to children with Autism, developmental delays and typically developing children (including Pre-K for All). We were recently notified that the lease for the place we have called home for the last 46 years would not be renewed. In order for us to complete the current school year, we had to negotiate an agreement with the landlord to allow us to remain until August 19, 2016.

We pride ourselves on our impeccable reputation. We are dedicated to the philosophy that all children can learn and learn best through meaningful play which encourages curiosity, discovery, and problem solving.

In order for us to continue serving the Brooklyn community, we must quickly find a new space, undergo renovations, and have it approved by all the required agencies. This must all be accomplished before we can begin the enrollment process for the upcoming school year. This is a daunting task. The relocation process is also putting us in a financial crisis. In order for our school to accomplish this goal, we need funding to cover our moving costs, renovations, and legal fees. We estimate that the total of these costs will surpass $200,000.
