Shore Theater Hotel Plans Revealed!

Coney Island Theater November 8, 2014 @The Coney Island Blog

The Coney Island Blog was the first news site to reveal the sale of the landmarked Shore Theater on Surf ave. across the street from Nathan’s Famous.

A video by Coney Blog editor Michael Quinn documents the sale.

In the beginning of the year Pye Properties bought the dilapidated theater from Jasmine Bullard for $14 million. In January we were told that the theater would return back to it’s past glory. Little did we know the grand plans that they have in store for the building until today.

The plans are illustrated below.

According to the new broker the Shore Theater will be ringing in a “New Coney Island”with a soon to be existing hotel and catering hall with additional retail space. There will also be a restaurant and rooftop pool.

In the second closeup picture a pool is illustrated with lounge chairs and cabanas ala South Beach, Mi.

There isn’t yet a timeline for the hotel opening.

Only soon.

  1. Fantastic – But please bring back the iconic SHORE sign

  2. I thought they were going to reopen it as a theater??? Is that space even zoned for a hotel??? I don’t believe it is. Strange. Plus it is landmarked.

I have serious doubts about these being realistic plans. Need more solid zoning info. Thanks for posting this though.
