Star Wars: Force Awakens Purple Rain Highlight Flicks on Beach Series

The Alliance for Coney Island has announced this year’s 2016 Flicks on the Beach movie line-up. Flicks on the Beach, programmed by the Alliance for Coney Island and in partnership with Rooftop Films, is set to begin on Monday, July 11th, featuring movies every Monday night for seven consecutive weeks. This is the sixth year that the Alliance and Rooftop Films have partnered up for this new Coney Island summer tradition.

The series screens movies on the Coney Island Beach near West 10th Street and the Boardwalk. This year’s movie line-up includes major blockbusters from the past year and a cult classic starring a beloved musician.

The full lineup for the 2016 Flicks on the Beach series:

July 11th – Jurassic World
July 18th – Star Wars: The Force Awakens
July 25th – Inside Out
August 1st – Avengers Age of Ultron
August 8th – Rooftop Shorts (a collection of the best short films focusing on the history of Rooftop Films and New York City over the past two decades)
August 15th – Purple Rain
August 22nd – Creed
