IHOP Coney Island to Open by Thanksgiving Day

According to IHOP franchisee Bryan McKenzie the restaurant will be opening it’s doors for pancakes by Thanksgiving. The Coney Island Blog was initially told that the Surf ave. IHOP was to be open last April, while other news sources reported a June or July 2016 opening. However, Coney Island IHOP owner Bryan McKenzie told the Coney Island Blog yesterday that they plan on opening by the fourth week of November.

So why the delay? According to McKenzie post Superstorm Sandy regulations dictated that a larger barrier wall had to be built in the front of the restaurant to block another storm surge.

IHOP is the most recent of the national chains to open on Surf ave. The IHOP sign was hoisted up earlier this week. This location will be on the north side of Surf Ave. between W.12th and W. 8th st.
