Original Studio 54 DJ Celebrates Birthday at Coney Island

We hear that Rebecca Lynn will be hosting a birthday bash for Night Life Icon Nicky Siano at the Eldorado Auto Scooters on Surf ave. Nicky opened the first disco in 1972 called The Gallery. The Sheepshead Bay resident was a mentor to Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles as well as a resident DJ at Studio 54.

Nicky Siano’s 60th Birthday-The Last Party, will take place at the bumper cars on Saturday, March 21st. from 9pm-2pm.

One unusual caveat is the sound system at the Eldorado, which was designed by RICHARD LONG, the same person who designed the sound at STUDIO 54 and PARADISE GARAGE. The sound is working perfectly, and producing a class A audio experience. That is why Nicky chose the spot, along with the intense light show, and he will include VINYL in his DJ set.

Mr. Siano was one of a small group of DJ’s in the early seventies who pioneered the DISCO SCENE. Known as a DJ, Nicky also designed his club and the lighting, pioneered DJ techniques, was the first to install large bass horns, and improve sound designs. He took 10 years off, ’84-’94 to work with PWA’s and write the book on HIV Treatment options, NO TIME TO WAIT, Bantam Books, 1993.

If anyone is to be called a legend it is SIANO.” New York Magazine, 2011.

Nicky is named one of the “100 People who Changed New York,” in New York Magazine’s 35th Anniversary issue, April 2003.

“Nicky Siano IS dance music.” Play Magazine, March

“DJ Legend Nicky Siano remains an important figure in the music industry.” Time Out New York, September 2001
