Learn Sideshow Skills and Banner Painting at Workshop

Did you ever want to play with fire without burning the house down? Next week sideshow master Ray Valenz will be holding a class teaching the art of traditional sideshow acts. YOU can learn: Fire Eating and Breathing, Human Blockhead, Sword Swallowing, Bed of Nails Stunts, Glass Walking, Strait Jacket Escape, Blade Box, Electric Chair, Snake Charming as well as a brief history of Coney Island and the sideshow.

Since my daughter was two years old she has always been fascinated with the sideshow banners adorning the landmarked Child’s Building on W. 12th st. These images were created by Coney Island USA artist in residence Marie Roberts. Yes, YOU too can learn the art of banner painting at Marie’s workshop!

March 16-18
Banner Painting Workshop, 10am – 2pm with Marie Roberts, Artist in Residence at Coney Island USA! $700
