9/11 Vandal Taken Into Custody

Our Councilman Mark Treyger has informed us that police have taken into custody the person responsible for desecrating the 9/11 Wall of Remembrance at MCU Park. Thanks to the NYPD, our Councilman, and the Coney Island community for working together to take action.

We will give you more updates as they arrive.

Update: According to the Daily News the police arrested an man, Elliot Baez. The police released surveillance footage yesterday, but mistook him for a woman.

Baez has been accused of smearing white paint all over the image and image of Police Officer Moira Smith.

According to Police Baez was deranged and has no political agenda.
