Power Outage In Coney Island

There were 550 metered customers without power last night in Coney Island ,which included the areas of Carey Gardens on West 23rd St. as well as parts of Sea Gate.

At about 6:00pm yesterday evening, Councilman Mark Treyger confirmed through Con Edison that there was a power outage affecting many residents of Coney Island. ” I will be in touch with Con Edison during the evening to make sure this work gets done expeditiously to restore service as soon as possible.”

The 60th Precinct announced a LEVEL 1 mobilization for West 15th St. to West 28th and from Neptune Ave. to Mermaid Ave.

NYCHA Emergency Service sent a crew out to a few of the affected areas and besides a few street lights most service was restored by 7:30pm last night.

It’s not certain what caused the outage.
