Help Beautify Coney Island

@The Coney Island Beautification Project

The Coney Island Community needs your assistance. Former Community Board 13 Chairman and active community member Eddie Mark, has started a GoFundMe campaign to help benefit the Coney Island Beautification Project.

“The Coney Island Beautification Project, Inc. was formed for the civic purpose to encourage community involvement and education in the enhancement of the environment and the resiliency of post superstorm Sandy, Coney Island and surrounding areas. Community activities will be conducted through projects that augment neighborhood greening such as the design, development and/or implementation of a community public space for gardening or the development/enhancement of parks, street tree beds, waterfronts or other green spaces for public use. Also, includes projects which promote community conservation such as rainwater/flood control, composting, recycling and the prevention of soil erosion.”

“Today, we are asking for a donation to support the group in purchasing tools, equipments, plants, bulbs, materials, signage and more! We have greening projects linked up with our local schools – P.S. 188, 288, 329 and Liberation Diploma Plus High School, Girl Scouts, PSA1 Explorers Club, Coney Island Public Library, Coney Island YMCA, and still growing.”

To make this fun, Mr. Mark will take the New Year Day Polar Bear Plunge/Swim for 30 minutes. So for every minute that he’s in the water you can donate a $1 per minute. You can be generous and double the donation if he completes the whole 30 minutes to $60 (but any donation is appreciated to the group). All eyes will be on Eddie this New Year’s Day!

So please help this group grow so we can see a greener Coney Island!

GoFundMe is a safe and easy way to start a crowdfunding campaign. Please donate if you care about improving the living conditions for the people of Coney Island.
