Spock Dead at 83

Boston born actor Leonard Nimoy passed away today at the age of 83. Nimoy was best know as the half Vulcan character Spock on the TV and later movie series Star Trek. He turned down a role in the popular 1960’s soap opera Peyton Place for Spock.

Back in the fall of 2013 Nimoy joined actors Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen at Coney Island. Star Trek cast member Stewart and McKellen were promoting their roles in the Broadway revival of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot. The three men visited  Nathan’s Famous on Surf ave.

One of our favorite places to go outside of Coney Island is the Symphony Space Theater located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side(For you literary buffs the best day to visit each year is June 16th). The theater is home to the 168 seat Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater.

Rest in peace Spock. You have lived long and prospered my friend.
