Video: Lance Stephenson Gives His Tour of Coney Island

As a young boy growing up in Brooklyn I ate, drank and slept basketball. It was the popular sport of choice. You played street ball all year round. You played in all kinds of weather. It didn’t matter how cold it was out. You played until it was dark and time to go home for dinner. There were no cell phones or texting or social media to distract us. We were better for it.

The first time that I attempted to dribble or shoot a basketball was one Saturday morning at Lincoln High School. I spent many Saturday mornings and weekday evenings practicing at Lincoln. As a 10 year old kid, playing on Lincoln High’s vast and imposing court you felt like you were ballin’ on the world’s stage.

As a Brooklyn kid you were well aware of Lincoln players like the 7ft Tchaka Shipp, the Marburys, the Telfairs and now current NBA star Lance Stephenson.

Stephenson helped bring a city championship to Lincoln all four years that he attended.

He was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in 2010.

Today we are sharing with you Lance Stephenson’s Brooklyn. This is Lance Stephenson’s tour of Coney Island.
