25th Annual Coney Island Sand Sculpting Contest

Brought to you by Astella Development Corporation and Brooklyn Community Services. The 25th Annual Coney Island Sand Sculpting Contest brings together individuals, families and artists to celebrate our community. The event will take place on Saturday August 15th from 11am −4pm on the beach in from of Deno’s Wonder Wheel Park. Professional artists will build remarkable sculptures while amateurs from within the community and across the region will challenge each other for cash prizes. It will be a family-friendly and fun-filled day with live entertainment and activities for children. This annual event frequently attracts local and national press as well as 3,000-4,000 visitors from the community and across the country.

All donations and sponsorship dollars raised from this event will support rebuilding efforts in Coney Island following the devastation of Superstorm Sandy.

“Coney Island was devastated by Superstorm Sandy and through the generous donations from various foundations, companies and individuals, BCS and Astella Development Corp. have provided support to people in need. To date, we have distributed over $300,000 in food, furniture, household goods, clothing and help with repairs. But we have a long way to go. BCS has partnered with Astella Development Corp. and its nationally recognized sand sculpting contest to raise additional financial resources to provide immediate and long-term support to rebuild the lives of Superstorm Sandy victims in Coney Island.” For more information and registration click here.
