Checkers To Open This Week in Coney Island
Coney Island will be getting another franchised burger joint this week. After a long delay Checkers will finally be opening at the Surf ave. entrance to the subway terminal. A truck was loading food into the restaurant at around noon today. We were told by an employee that if everything goes well Checkers will be open this Tuesday afternoon(update Checkers will be opening on Monday December 7).
Cool! Any decent seating, or just to go?
Glad to have any new business open in Coney Island. However, we certainly could use a different type of food place. Magic Gyro is a step in the right direction. Now, how about some Asian food! Sorely lacking in sushi, etc, especially with all the hipsters flocking to Coney.
