Wayfinding Signs to be Installed at Coney/Brighton

@DOT

The Department of Transportation plans on installing wayfinding signs in areas of Coney Island and Brighton Beach. The signs include maps designated to guide pedestrians to various points of interest.

Wayfinding signs are currently found throughout areas of NYC that include Downtown Brooklyn, Flatbush, Williamsburg, as well as the Financial District and Uptown Manhattan.

The D.O.T. will be rolling out 10 signs in our area by summer’s end. Initially there will be 8 signs located in Coney Island and 2 in Brighton Beach. They plan on being installed near subway stations and major intersections.

Some locations proposed include W. 8th St. and Surf, Cropsey ave. as well as near the entrance to Luna Park and MCU Park. Also near the 22nd st. and Surf ave. entrance/exit to the new Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk.

Signs will also be installed at Coney Island Ave. and Brighton Beach Ave.
