Cyclones Alum Kevin Plawecki has Amazin’ Debut with Mets!

Occasionally we see former Brooklyn Cyclones players blossom into Major League athletes. Such is the case with Cyclones 2012 team member Kevin Plawecki. Touted as their #2 prospect, Plawecki was called up to replace injured Mets catcher Travis d’ Arnaud.

Plawecki had a spectacular debut last night helping the Mets defeat the Braves 7-1. Plawecki went 2-4 with two runs scored along with a superb defensive play throwing a runner out.

Cyclones pride all over as Plawecki becomes the first Mets catcher to have two hits and two runs scored in debut since 2007.

After many disappointing seasons the Amazin’s are finally giving their fans something to smile about with one of the best starts in team history.

Whenever I would complain to my mother over the years about the Mets record she would simply reply, “You weren’t there in 62′.” There were some looooong subway rides home back to Brooklyn from the Polo Grounds!”

“Happy Days are Here Again?”  Let’s hope so!

“Catch a Rising Star!” Tickets for the Brooklyn Cyclones go on sale in May. Click here for information and schedule.
